Me: I am a soon to be dietitian (give me an internship and let me pass the exam and we’ll be there) graduating in June of 2016 from Oregon State University. I am originally from California but somehow, through the grace of a loving Heavenly Father, I ended up in the Pacific North West. I love it here and I feel so blessed to be so close to nature and beauty. I enjoy running, hiking, walking, and cycling. I also love reading, pretending I can take pictures, shopping, and sometimes sewing. I regularly shop at Walmart for groceries and I might mention it often. I met and married a businessman/cyclist and I live in a two bedroom duplex/apartment where I only have one real window downstairs (hence why I don’t take a lot of pictures- there’s not a lot of natural light in my house). I am also an active member of my church (LDS) and believe in God and Jesus Christ.
Content: I guess I consider this to be a lifestyle and food blog with an emphasis on nutrition. I have some life lessons that I’ve learned over the years and I have some that I am working on. I love to share ideas and get new ones so I love thoughtful comments. I also think that health and nutrition have a somewhat negative connotation to a lot of people and I’m here to help change the way healthy food looks, tastes and is perceived. I believe health is fun and energizing and I struggle with eating bad tasting food for the sake of my health as much as the next person, which is why I do what I do. I don’t think people have to become organic, vegan, free-range, gluten-free, lactose-free, or anything else that might be considered extreme or expensive in order to be healthy and I struggle with the new look that health has been packaged with. It’s not as hard or complicated as it looks and that’s my message to everyone.
I hope you stick around. I don’t always have time to update but I like to think that I’m at least somewhat thoughtful about the content I post.
